A Blog to Ponder On

Have you every had an idea that you can't seem to get out of your head? Like an antique nightstand you discovered at a swap meet that you can't seem to find a spot that fits in your house, but is just too cool to consider getting rid of it. Well, in the spirit of the metaphor, I sometimes feel as if I have an entire collection of subjectively stylish furniture rummaging around in a tiny studio apartment that is ready to burst at the seams. For me, creating this blog is like having an entire warehouse to organize and showcase all the stuff that has been piling up in my head. Not only is this a way to clear out the clutter in my brain, it is an opportunity to present some of my more unorthodox viewpoints and hypotheses to friends, family, and the curious in general.
As per the title, The Ponder Nook is my little corner of the cyber-verse where I aim to write my thoughts and opinions on a plethora of topics and share them to all those who care to read it. Among the issues of discussion are my perspectives on philosophy, religion, history, science, politics, books, movies and television shows. In an attempt to tantalize the interests of potential followers, here is a preview of some of the queries I will be molding into posts in the coming days and weeks: What is human consciousness? Why is Art Spiegelman's Maus graphic novel being banned in schools? Is The Lord of the Rings a white fantasy? Does evolution disprove God? Should the legal system intervene in personal choice? Did The Mandalorian saved Star Wars? Is the two party system destroying the United States?
All these questions and more will be addressed and (subjectively) answered post by post as The Ponder Nook slowly takes shape. Comments, criticisms, and counter arguments are always welcomed and even appreciated, I simply ask that they remain respectful and steer away from name-calling and offensive language. In other words, instead of calling me a fool or a liar, explain to me why my ideas are foolish or wrong using objective reasoning and persuasive premises. As we begin to undertake this journey through eclectic speculations and scandalous controversies , I hope that some of what I say resonates with people and inspires them to come up with their own questions to conventional wisdom and accepted societal dogmas.
